Mediaslap is the first major product from the minds of Departika. Mediaslap connects artists to buyers of Photoshop brushes and shares a large portion of the revenue with the contributors. A driving force behind mediaslap is the desire to educate artists and buyers about the value of Photoshop brushes as both an income source and a valuable tool.

While working with the Departika team, Jason Gaylor played a big part in the design and project management and collaborated with the partners and team on the business objectives and site strategy.

Departika is a design firm located in downtown Springfield, Missouri. They plan, design, and develop websites, identities, packaging and an assortment of other great things (posters, t-shirts, Photoshop brushes, artist community sites and more).

Rabbit Fighter
Design for CD packaging and marketing collateral for rock music group Rabbit Fighter. This included the design of the Rabbit Fighter logo-mark, posters, t-shirt concepts, avatars, desktops downloads and a Web site. They took care of the music portion. Too bad the band broke up.

Design for CD packaging and marketing collateral for rock music group Fern. This included posters, t-shirts and other propaganda. Jason Gaylor is also on this CD as the lead singer and primary songwriter. He recorded and engineered the music in his home studio with the band. Listen and buy the Departure album on itunes.

Chi Alpha Booth
Banner designs for large booth to represent the different ministries and opportunities available for students involved in Chi Alpha. Objectives included unique banners for each ministry and a set of generic "Chi Alpha" banners that helped show life, growth, excitement and diversity.

Loretta... Poster
Design for Loretta and the Larkspurs show poster. They wanted "something cool and interesting with a lot of texture" to be reused for a few shows with different opening bands. This poster was used for a few other line-ups in this artist circle before it was retired.

The designfruit logo design was designed around a simplified version of the Photoshop brushes created by Jason Gaylor. Many of the designs swirl and loop around to create the compositions. The logo needed to represent the designs, feel professional, free-flowing and fun.

Multiplicity is an annual conference about planting churches sponsored by the Assemblies of God Church Planting Department. The creative tone and direction included words such as warm, inviting, young, opportunistic, credible, forward thinking, and hip.

MDM Ventures is an extension of Fritz Designs and Concepts; they build high-end wood poker tables. They specifically requested something old and classic looking. Plans include creating metal versions of this emblem to brand into the side of every table.

Songpull Logo
Songpull is all about performing rough and unrefined song ideas in the forum of a small group of friends and family. It's about getting the ideas out there for further development. The logo needed to speak to this early part of the process of songwriting. This unrefined, organic look is a representation of the state-of-mind in which artists should arrive at these events.
