I am an entrepreneur. I also design things, edit videos and write songs.
Jason Gaylor is a freelance designer living and working in the Midwest. He designs, manages, connects, and creates things. Jason is currently working on projects for Oakley, iSeatz, AdaptiveBlue, GetGlue.com and Departika. Prior to Freelancing, Jason worked at Departika in Springfield, Missouri; where he filled many roles, such as project manager, creative director and new product development. At Departika, he also helped build Mediaslap.com. Jason did contract work as a web interface designer for hotels.com, and before that, spent several years writing songs and performing as the front man for the rock band Fern. He designed all the marketing and promotional pieces for the band, and as a result of his marketing on the web, landed the band a short tour with the Goo Goo Dolls in 1999
He’s currently a partner at both Songpull and Designfruit. Songpull is a web community project for songwriters; encouraging artists to finish their songs. Designfruit is a shop that sells Jason's digital design assets to the design community. Jason started this business out of a necessity for high-quality Photoshop brushes, and has now expanded it to include more digital formats, and a recent addition of several vinyl wall art products.
Jason draws from over 10 years experience in design, project management, and new business development in music and design projects. Jason’s original illustrations have been on the cover of Digital Scrapbooking Magazine and featured in multiple magazines, including Photoshop, Computer Arts, Digital Scrapbooking, and Simple Scrapbooks. They have appeared on many different media including, Blue Man Group merchandise, H&M shirts, Sunkist and 7up cans, Chevy ads, PBS ads, Hewlett Packard design templates, FLOR tile samples, a network show package for the Versus Channel, and the Eastern Promises movie trailer.
I have a lot of energy and some weird sleeping habits. I am blessed with the ability to dream and be practical at the same time. Sometimes this is a curse.
